Brave Susan Fair
I once dreamed a dream
Of times near and far
Of Brave Susan, Fair
And the times she did spar
With those unworthy
And full of their pride
But each fell in turn
Her blade ne’er broke stride
Draw near, but take care!
I have a new verse
Speak nought near the castle
Lest fates turn for worse
An arrow most deadly
Sailed to the Queen
And Susan like lightning
Snatched it’s shaft unseen
Out of air, out of sight
Out of perilous flight
Our bulwark, our savior
Our Champion of Might
And so when you see
That beauty and steel
Give her every last shred
Of thanksgiving you feel
